The first Bowl Championship Series standings of the season came
out Monday and Air Force wasn't in the elite 15, which was led by
Oklahoma, Miami and Notre Dame.
The 21-14 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday night at Falcon Stadium
did enough damage to deflate the lofty position of previously
unbeaten Air Force.
Besides Notre Dame, no one from the non-BCS elite conferences is
among the top15.
In the Anderson & Hester computer poll, one of the seven computer
systems used to calculate the BCS standings, Air Force slipped to No.
15 after being No. 7 last week. Notre Dame remained No. 1 in the
Anderson & Hester poll. One of the two men who operate this poll, Dr.
