Television has never been content with invading our living rooms.
It also continually asserts itself in our language, adding slang,
phrases and nuances that can become as enduring as "the heartbreak of
psoriasis" or as fleeting as "yadda, yadda, yadda."
For almost 30 years, the greatest source of TV-inspired slang has
been NBC's sketch-comedy show, "Saturday Night Live."
Think about some of the catchphrases that became popular from
"SNL":
"You look mahvelous!"
"Jane, you ignorant slut!"
"Well, excuuuuuse, me!"
