The holidays are a time for lights, with Christmas lights glowing
from trees and eaves and the ceremonial lighting of the menorah
during Hanukkah.
As homes fill with artificial lights, consumers also are beginning
to discover the advantages of going fluorescent - something
businesses have known for decades.
Fluorescent bulbs save money. They are four times more efficient
than incandescent bulbs and provide the same lighting.
Traditionally, fluorescent lights have been reserved for
businesses. Go into most office buildings, schools or supermarkets
and you'll see 4-foot fluorescent tubes shining brilliant white
light.
