At one point early in tonight's game -- before the Baltimore
Orioles chose to pitch to first-half league MVP Carlos Delgado with a
base open in the second inning, before Deivi Cruz dropped a routine
popup in the third, before reliever Travis Driskill entered with the
bases loaded and drilled his first batter with his first pitch to
force in a run -- the Orioles had a fighting chance against the
Toronto Blue Jays.
That point came on Omar Daal's first pitch of the game, a strike
to Shannon Stewart.
After that, it was all over. From Stewart's leadoff homer on
Daal's second pitch to Delgado's three hits and four RBI to Mike
Bordick's two doubles, the Blue Jays ...
