Anthony Jimenez, who's accused of kidnapping, raping and killing a
Colorado Springs teenager three years ago, went on trial Monday for a
second time.
The difference from his first trial, which ended in a mistrial in
June because of juror misconduct, is Jimenez won't face execution if
convicted in the death of 16-year-old Jennifer Baker.
The evidence against Jimenez includes DNA, a camping partner's
testimony and Jimenez's words, the prosecutor told jurors.
Jimenez's lawyer said the DNA is misleading, Jimenez's words were
twisted and his camping partner lied to save himself from the death
penalty.
