When a nuclear device is smuggled into Texas and a hurricane bears
down on the Texas coast during the next week, the only television
station carrying the story will be WNN.
That's the fake network set up by the military for an exercise in
which dozens of federal, state and local agencies will cooperate to
test their ability to respond to and defend against homeland threats
and disaster.
While the incidents will be staged in Texas and Alaska, the best
picture of who's doing what and what's needed where will be from the
North American Aerospace Defense Command/U.S. Northern Command's
"situational awareness center" at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado
Springs.
