DENVER - It's a story as old as time: A great civilization rises,
builds an empire, is beset by something unexpected and falls apart.
It happened to the Egyptians, the Romans, the Aztecs and the
Incas.
A closer look at one of those great civilizations, the Incas, may
be seen at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science through May 9.
"Machu Picchu: Unveiling the Mystery of the Incas," opened Friday
at the museum and is the largest collection of Inca artifacts ever
assembled for exhibit in the United States.
It begins with a short film, setting the historical stage. When
the lights come up, visitors leave the theater and walk out into...
