Colorado Springs-based Air Force Space Command is assessing how
its bases handle sexual assaults -- part of an Air Force-wide review
amid allegations that cases are mishandled by the military.
Space Command chief Gen. Lance Lord last month formed a 13-member
research team in response to an Air Force leadership directive.
The team will visit eight bases in the command before issuing a
report this spring.
Although officials wouldn't comment about findings of reviews
completed at Peterson and Schriever Air Force bases, they said
personnel are embracing the analysis.
