Article: Simla mayor awaits promised apology Councilman has not made amends a month after his offending joke about town

Remember that humorous passing reference Colorado Springs City Councilman Tom Gallagher made to Simla while discussing long grass last month?

Apparently, it's not so funny any more.

After Gallagher said city code shouldn't be changed to allow for longer grass because the Springs would look like Simla, Mayor Lester Berry called from the Elbert County town. He said he wanted an apology from Gallagher and goodnaturedly offered to take him out for a meal while getting it.

That was a month ago. Berry hasn't received his public apology yet.

And he's not happy.
