One word describes the calls flooding area waterproofing and
drainage businesses this season: frantic. And that's if the callers
can even get through.
This spring's rains, especially on top of February's heavy melting
snow, caused worst-case scenarios in basements of countless local
homes and businesses. The weather relented this week, but in many
cases, the damage had already been done. Those who had never had
water problems are having them. Property owners who may have deferred
drainage issues during the past few years of drought are facing old
problems with new urgency.
