Article: Fewer international students study in Springs, state

Colorado Springs colleges and universities are following a national trend of declining foreign student enrollment.

A recent report issued by the Institute of International Education said the number of foreign students in the United States during the past school year decreased by more than 2 percent.

Some universities saw drops as big as 23 percent. Colorado's foreigndent enrollment decreased by 5,943 students, or 5 percent, from last year, the study said.

This is the first nationwide decrease in the number of foreign students in more than 30 years, the New York-based institute said.
