Article: Marvel re-introducing Black Panther

The Black Panther, comics' first major black superhero, is on the prowl again.

And Reginald Hudlin, the writer of the Panther's new series, is working to make sure the character gets the respect -- and the readership -- Hudlin thinks he deserves.

The Panther, who debuted in Marvel Comics' "Fantastic Four" in 1966, has had his own series before, including a critically acclaimed but saleslenged run written by Colorado Springs resident Christopher Priest. But he's never crossed into the top tier of Marvel's heroes.

That top tier, though, is where the Panther belongs, Hudlin says.
