DENVER - The families of soldiers killed in action could get a
license plate honoring their loss under legislation approved
Wednesday by the House.
Members voted 51-13 to approve House Bill 1028, which lets
families purchase a memorial license plate or active-duty license
plate that the deceased would have been eligible for.
Four Republican members of the El Paso County delegation voted
against the measure: Reps. Bill Cadman, Richard Decker, Dave
Schultheis and Larry Liston.
Supporters of the measure say letting families get a license plate
to commemorate their loss is a small gesture of thanks for their
sacrifice.
