ROATAN ISLAND, Honduras - Ronnie the dolphin rolled on his back
and slowly swam past a halfdozen tourists standing waist-deep in the
warm, azure Caribbean Sea.
Each took turns rubbing Ronnie's tummy as he glided back and
forth. Then the bottle-nose dolphin floated patiently as each member
of the group hugged him and posed for a photo. Ronnie gave each one a
"kiss."
Then, on command of his trainer, Ronnie plunged into the water,
circled out over a coral reef and raced back toward the group at
frightening speed, stopping in a dramatic splash and narrowly
avoiding a collision with the startled tourists.
The encounter ended with the group donning snorkel gear and fins
and swimming for an hour ...
