Thee Occasion's Web site describes a wedding center with a chapel
for 300 guests, ballroom, cascading waterfall and dressing rooms
complete with complimentary freshsqueezed orange juice -- all against
the backdrop of Black Forest's pine trees.
The proposed wedding center was left standing at the altar when
the El Paso County Commission last week denied a rezoning that would
have made it possible.
It was another victory for members of the Black Forest Land Use
Committee, who argued that the project doesn't fit the guidelines
outlined in the Black Forest Preservation Plan.
