Article: Black Forest weighs going own way

The Black Forest incorporation committee's leaders don't yet know if they support creating a new town.

It's too early in the process, said cochairmen Gary Schinderle and Larry Stanley, to make that decision.

"I couldn't make a case for incorporation today," Stanley said. "I would support it if it makes economic sense."

The complicated economics of incorporation are among many factors the Black Forest Options Committee is studying. The group of about 40 volunteers meets on a regular basis but hasn't yet issued a general invitation to the public.

Like its neighbor Falcon, Black Forest's incorporation discussion is partially prompted by a desire to control its destiny.
