Black Forest and Falcon bump backback against one another. That
border and a desire by each to control its own destiny are among the
few things they share.
In Black Forest, pine trees tower so high and grow so dense in
some areas they block views of the mountains and confuse one's sense
of direction. Homeowners live in a happy state of social isolation.
"To be honest, I have to look hard to see my neighbor," said Gary
Schinderle, coman of the Black Forest Options Committee studying
incorporation. "There would be a lot of people who wouldn't be
comfortable in that environment. Trust me, it's dark out there at
night, and there are scary animals around. The people in Black Forest
