Most people know the difference between cats and dogs. But not the wildlife advocates at Boulder-based Sinapu, who are pushing for a proactive effort to reintroduce wolves into Colorado, modeled on the state's so-far successful efforts with lynx.

Maybe Sinapu didn't get the memo, but wolves aren't lynx. Lynx don't weigh 100 pounds. Lynx don't run in packs. Lynx don't have the reputation for livestock predation wolves do. This isn't necessarily a reason for hysteria. But it might help explain why the public would have a few more qualms about wolves than about lynx.
