DENVER - Ron Dayne has a reason again to smile.

After spending his first five professional years in a system not suited to his talents, the 1999 Heisman Trophy winner has found a home in the run-happy Denver Broncos offense.

Let the final drive of Sunday's 20-17 victory against the San Diego Chargers stand as Dayne's welcome back to football.

Champ Bailey's thirdquarter interception and subsequent touchdown return turned around a dismal Broncos performance. But it was Dayne's stubborn ground pounding in the final drive that carried the Broncos to victory and enabled them to regain a modicum of respect after the atrocious outing at Miami.
