Article: Truck traffic angers residents Black Forest officials ask county to intervene

Drivers of heavy trucks bound for construction sites in northeast El Paso County regularly use Black Forest's narrow highways as a shortcut, and residents there want it to stop.

They're asking El Paso County planners to limit the weight and size of trucks passing through the community and to enforce truck routes outlined in the county transportation plan.

Phil Hosmer, chairman of the Black Forest transportation committee, made that pitch to the county transportation department in a June 24 letter. Transportation planner Janet Stephens said her department will look into it but didn't promise any action.
