Article: Weary Sky Sox fall to River Cats

Short rest, leaky defense and a depleted lineup hurt the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Monday night as they were drubbed 14-6 by the Sacramento River Cats before a seasonhigh crowd of 7,533 at Security Service Field.

The Sky Sox led 5-1 after four innings, but the River Cats scored 13 runs over the next four innings. Sky Sox starter Christian Parker (0-1) was replaced in the sixth with the Sky Sox ahead 5-4, but reliever Alex Serrano surrendered Andrew Beattie's three-run homer that gave Sacramento a 7-5 lead. In the seventh, the River Cats added four more runs, two of them unearned.
