Article: Diocese weighs shutting its Holy Trinity school Officials aim to boost falling enrollment

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs may eliminate one of its elementary schools next year as part of an educational overhaul.

Parents of the 150 students at Holy Trinity Catholic School say that closing the elementary school would be a mistake.

"If you could bottle up what Holy Trinity has and give it to the other schools, nobody would have a problem," said Tim O'Connor, father of two Holy Trinity students.

No decision has been made. The diocese, headed by Bishop Michael Sheridan, will probably make a decision after the the first of the year, according to a diocesan statement.
