Article: Gudvangen will lead D-11 board Hasling voted VP; Breazell to remain secretary

John Gudvangen, one of three members elected Nov. 1 in the most expensive race ever for a seat on the Colorado Springs School District 11 board, was named its president Monday.

Gudvangen, who will serve as president of the seven-member board for two years, was sworn into office along with Tami Hasling and Sandra Mann.

Hasling was elected vice president of the D-11 board, and incumbent Willie Breazell will continue to serve as board secretary.

Jan Tanner, who is not a board member, will continue to serve as treasurer.

Gudvangen, who was elected president in a secret ballot, replaces Sandy Shakes, who has led the oftentious board for the two years since she was elected as part of a fourson ...
