DENVER - A wedge of Pittsburgh Steelers fans, dressed in black and
yellow far above Invesco Field at Mile High, looked like a smudge in
a bowl of Broncos orange. Filling up Section 542 at one end of the
stadium's horseshoe, they were trapped between Denver fans and a 100-
foot drop to oblivion, two stories to the concrete concourse below.
Yet late Sunday afternoon, they were more than a mile high.
"We're going to the Super Bowl!" screamed one woman into her cell
phone, chain-dialing every friend in her directory and repeating the
refrain.
Pittsburgh is, Denver's not. The Steelers thumped the Denver
Broncos, 34-17, in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon in a
