CESANA PARIOL, Italy - The American sliders are a long way from
Salt Lake City.
Among bobsled, luge and skeleton, the American sliders won eight
medals at the Salt Lake City Olympics four years ago.
Nobody expected them to duplicate that feat here in Italy. But
nobody expected this either.
The American sliders have struck out miserably. They've won zilch.
Not a single medal.
The closest the Americans have come to a sliding medal away from
home is a couple of fourth-place finishes.
Out of 15 starts in the finals of their respective events, the
American sliders have only six top-10 finishes.
