Article: Mistakes doom Sky Sox in loss

Lots of discussion and planning and coaching took place after the Colorado Springs Sky Sox lost again Wednesday.

The 6-4 loss to Portland was hardly an exercise in fundamental baseball and at least two of the 3,133 fans at Security Service Field -- Colorado Rockies general manager Dan O'Dowd and assistant general manager Bill Geivett -- took note.

"It's obvious we didn't play good baseball," said Sky Sox manager Tom Runnells. "We made way too many mistakes. I guess you could say we played just good enough to lose."

The Sky Sox (5-9) have lost three straight while Portland (7-6) has won three straight.
