ENGLEWOOD - Brenda Dayne left her half-eaten Thanksgiving dinner
on the table. She hurried to the living room, where someone was
saying her son Ron was in the game.
The Denver Broncos were in overtime against the Dallas Cowboys.
Ron Dayne was in at tailback, an unusual move because Mike Anderson
started the game.
"I said, 'Uh, oh, this is going to be pretty. This is going to be
nice,'" Brenda said.
Ron got the ball on the second play of overtime. He cut back
through a hole on the left side and ran 55 yards to Dallas' 6-yard
line. On the next play, Denver won the game with a field goal.
When Ron was running in the open field, Brenda jumped in the air.
