Article: Gordon Tech still producing top talent: George becomes 3rd Ram to earn D-I scholarship in 2 years

Gordon Tech had a rough football season. The Rams finished 0-9 one year after making the state playoffs for the second consecutive season and advancing to the quarterfinals.

But a bright spot came a week ago, when cornerback-free safety- wide receiver-kick returner Patrick George made an oral commitment to Northern Illinois. George's commitment made him the third Gordon Tech football player in two seasons to earn a Division I scholarship. The other two are David Rivas and Tommie Westbrook, who are at Illinois State.

"All the schools I visited were great places, but I felt comfortable [at NIU]," said George, who plans to major in criminal justice.
