Jeff Lang uses a guitar like a Scottish housewife uses a sheep:
Every part can become something tasty. On his custom-made steel-top,
he fingerpicks and strums, slides and frets, and taps out accents on
the body with his metal-tipped right fingers. He raps the wooden body
of his simple acoustic with a wake-up bang. With his right hand, he
caresses the neck above the capo, teasing out faint phrases. But the
most important part he uses is the heart. Lang is a seasoned
performer who seems to spend as much time in stateside clubs as in
his native Australia. His torqued-up strumming, fondness for stomp-
box rhythms and clarion voice always draw attention. But Wednesday's
performance at Jammin' ...
