AUBURN - Rising costs, talk of broken promises and the lack of a written contract have led to a simmering conflict between the Auburn Community Center Association board and the Auburn chapter of the Topeka Boys and Girls Club.

The controversy erupted when the Auburn Community Center Association board decided in November not to renew its lease with the Auburn Boys and Girls Club, a "unit" of the Topeka Boys and Girls Club.

Students can be enrolled in the program for $100 per summer and $20 per school year. Students may go to the Boys and Girls Club meeting place for several hours in the school year and various hours in the summer for educational tutoring ...
