To Hannah Kreslins, owner of the hip Adams Morgan salon Trim,
summer means one thing: major hair damage. "I tell my clients they
shouldn't be in the sun at all, especially if they get their hair
colored. But that's not practical," says Kreslins, who consequently
treats breakage, split ends and otherwise straw-like hair all summer
long. And it's a compound problem: The sun makes the hair cuticle
more porous, which means more saltwater and chlorine seep through,
which makes hair drier. In short, prevention is everything. So how do
you keep your hair safe? Try these four tips.
