Brian Harman waited a year to get the opportunity again. For a
full year he had time to think, time to let the what-ifs drive him
crazy.
This time, he said, he wasn't going to choke.
And when his putt on the 14th hole finally fell, when the
championship was finally his, he dropped his putter, raised both arms
high and hugged his caddie.
His smile was as long as a 3-wood.
Harman, the No. 3 seed in the U.S. Junior Amateur at Columbia
Country Club, defeated No. 13 seed Jordan Cox, 5 and 4, yesterday,
the largest margin of victory since 1970 and the fifth-greatest in
the tournament's 55-year history.
