For the first two months of her tiny life, whenever Favour
Sobowale-Davies opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face
of her identical twin sister, Faithful, only inches away and as big
as the moon, looking back at her.
Mirror images of each other, the sisters were born joined at the
abdomen, facing one another. A rare phenomenon of nature, the
conjoined twins liked to put their fingers in each other's mouth or
stroke one another's cheek. One was always wrapping her legs around
the other. They often kissed.
Although their bodies were connected, their mother, Kikelomo,
always knew that they were separate girls. Faithful would never take
