About 50 students gathered at Catholic University last night to
voice concern, anger and frustration over the school's silence on the
recent sexual abuse scandal that has shaken the Catholic Church.
Some students at the forum called for Boston Cardinal Bernard Law,
who is chairman of the university's 50-member board of trustees, to
step down from that position or at least apologize to the university.
The largest sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church erupted in
Law's archdiocese two months ago.
Law has apologized publicly for reassigning a priest to other
parishes after he sexually abused children, but Law has directed no
comments to Catholic's students, faculty or alumni, students said.
