Orioles 6, Devil Rays 5
There are not many reasons for Terry Crowley, Elrod Hendricks and
Scott McGregor to want to revisit the 1988 Baltimore Orioles' season,
which began with an American League-record 21-game losing streak and
got only marginally better. But one suitable reason is another team
drawing near a record they would not mind surrendering.
Tonight, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (9-25) took another step toward
that bit of dubious history, falling to the Orioles, 6-5, in front of
10,635 at Tropicana Field, for their 15th consecutive loss. If the
Devil Rays wind up tying or breaking that record, it would come in
Baltimore next weekend. At this point, there is no reason to think
they can't ...
