Over the years, the Bob Levey Con Man Removal Project has taken
aim at . . .
1) The guy who walks up to you on the street, claims to be a
neighbor, says his car has just been booted and could he please
borrow $50 in cash? He'll be oh-so-sure to return it you that very
night. Funny, he never does.
2) The fellow who e-mails you, claiming to be descended from or
connected to African royalty. He offers to cut you in on a very shady
but very lucrative investment scheme. As the old saying goes, if it
sounds too good to be true, it is -- and this one is.
3) The couple who approach a victim (usually an elderly woman) and
say they have found big bucks on the street. The con team offers to
share it ...
