Article: Getting Off the Redskins' Eternal Waiting List

You can always tell when someone's new to town. He'll pronounce the first word of Chevy Chase like the General Motors car. He'll ask someone at the University of Maryland what a terrapin is. He'll take an apartment in Oakton and say, gee, it's only 11 miles from the White House, the commute can't be that bad.

And he'll say: "Wouldn't it be cool to buy season tickets to see the Washington Redskins?"

I wish these newcomers the very best. But first, they'd better rub the gossamer out of their eyes.

You're more likely to see four people elected president than you are to get Redskins season tickets. And even if you wait 16 long years for tix, that's far better than it used to be.
