Sand Creek's early-season struggles continued, when the Scorpions lost 58-26 to Montbello at the Panther Classic girls basketball tournament to drop to 0-5.

Harrison continued its march to the tournament title Friday, beating Coronado, 0-6, 52-48 behind Paige Ricker's four free throws in the final 91 seconds.

In other action, Greeley West beat Centaurus 59-39 and Golden beat Alamosa 67-61. Harrison plays Centaurus at 11 a.m. A win will send the Panthers to the 7:30 p.m. championship game.

Fortunately for Sand Creek, the loss to Montbello won't count against it in 5A Metro play, which determines a team's state tournament fate.
