The Royal Festival Hall is part of the bleak, concrete Mordor of
the South Bank.
Here London's concert and theatregoers battle their way through
swirling winds and skateboarders to some of the city's most
ambitious arts events at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Hayward
Gallery, and the area's 'popular temple of high culture', the Royal
Festival Hall.
For the past two years there has been an ominous public silence
from the two people in charge of the Pounds 111 million
redevelopment of the Royal Festival Hall. In the press, though,
