Article: Ladder's top step is used to hold tools

Today let's talk about a step in the wrong direction. A step ladder is a super tool, but that top "step" isn't really to be used as a step. It's a great place to set your tools and hardware down on, as long as they don't roll off. A clever add-on to the top step would be an attached short-sided tray to hold items so they won't fall off. You can use glue or bolts to hold it in place. If you use the latter, you can move it if you want. For example, you could place your bolt on one side so you could swing the tray out to the side and give you even more room to store the things you need to use while working. That might be even handier than a step anyway.
