CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. The crew of the space shuttle Columbia was
grounded today for a fourth time when clouds obscured emergency
landing sites. A fifth launch attempt was scheduled for Thursday.
It was yet another disappointment for the shuttle's seven
astronauts who have been on an emotional roller coaster with repeated
last-minute delays.
The crew, including observer Rep. C. William Nelson (D-Fla.),
had been scheduled to take off on a five-day mission at 6:05 a.m.,
Chicago time, to launch a $50 million television satellite and carry
out a series of experiments.
"I tell you, we've got to stop meeting like this," shuttle

...CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- NASA began the countdown Sunday night for Wednesday's launch of Endeavour after completing one final test to make sure the space shuttle's crew cabin was airtight. Meteorologists are predicting a 70 percent chance of good weather for the early evening launch.
