My Jan. 3 column on favorite fried chicken places resulted in a
flock of reponses from fried fowl fanatics. Now we have some
exciting new prospects to attack on a feast and devour mission.
This week's winner, by random selection, is Eileen M. Meyer of
Chicago. She wins a dinner for two at Louis Restaurant in Addison.
Excerpts from her letter and others follow:
When I think of fried chicken, I immediately think of White
Fence Farm (Lemont, take Interstate 55 to Exit 69 and follow the
signs; Joliet, 80 Barney Dr.). The delicious, non-greasy chicken is
served with special corn fritters and a relish tray. There is
usually a wait, but it's worth it to taste their spectacular fried
