Article: Joel Sebastian, radio disc jockey

Joel Sebastian, 53, a longtime Chicago radio figure, died Friday in Evanston Hospital of complications of pneumonia.

Mr. Sebastian, of Wilmette, had been a morning disc jockey since June for WJMK-FM (104), a station that plays rock music of the '50s through the '80s.

After studying psychology at the University of Michigan, Mr. Sebastian got his start in radio at WXYZ in Detroit. He worked at stations in Dallas; New Haven, Conn., and Los Angeles before moving to Chicago in 1966.
