NEW ORLEANS While Tony Eason is trying to block out the media blitz, Steve Grogan is plagued by a different Super Bowl worry.

"You wait so long for this," said Grogan, New England's backup quarterback who led the Patriots to six straight victories after they stood at a 2-3 crossroads last fall.

"After 11 years, to come down here and think about not getting on the field - even to think about it - is discouraging."

Grogan, who appears to be no more than excess baggage on the Pats' voyage to the Super Bowl, has the understanding and respect of his teammates.
