Music hath charms to soothe a savage beast. The poets have
known it for some time; now modern research might find confirmation
of links between music, health and mental balance.
They don't yet prescribe Sinatra for sinuses or Wagner instead
of Valium. But you could try chasing the blues with the blues. Or,
the next time aspirin doesn't work, why not go for baroque?
The power of music has been much studied, long debated and
little understood. Research in the last 10 years confirms that we're
often better off with a dose of music.
