Tomorrow marks the beginning of Black History Month, and a number of
local museums will join in the celebration with exhibits and programs
honoring the achievements and contributions of black Americans.
Saturday, The Museum of Science and Industry unveils "Black
Creativity," a multifaceted month-long program incorporating a juried
art show, exhibits, free musical and theater performances, career
conferences, workshops and other special activities.
The museum's exhibit honoring Nobel Peace Prize winner Martin
Luther King Jr. will feature "His Light Still Shines," a multimedia
program of memorabilia, photographs, audio tapes and a 26-minute
film. The King exhibit runs through Feb. 14, but ...
