Greg Foster used to look at the Bally Invitational track meet as
his only chance each year to visit his family in Maywood.
Foster started toward becoming a world-class hurdler at Proviso
East High School, but he has lived in California since 1976.
The family reunions at the Horizon brought out the best in
Foster's hurdling. Last year he set a world record over the 50-meter
hurdles in the Bally.
Touch of sadness
This Sunday, though, there will be a touch of sadness to his
appearance in the meet. Foster's life changed considerably in the
last year.
It all began June 29. Foster, who lives in Culver City, Calif.,
had returned home from a night club with two of his brothers when
another brother ...
