Article: Perth's tourist cup hardly runneth over

PERTH Located roughly halfway from nowhere, the capital of Western Australia is a delightful place in which to live. But its tourist attractions are another story.

While I was in Perth recently, a local newspaper printed a previously secret official report bemoaning the city's "limited tourist attractions." The next day, the Western Australian Tourism Commission admitted the criticism was justified and came up with some recommendations.

Generally, the fact that Perth is not exactly the world's most interesting city would be of little interest to most of the globe, including Australia.
