The ocean and mushrooms don't seem to have much in common, but
for Bill Clark, this unlikely pair led to the founding of his own
food marketing firm.
Clark, a native of Philadelphia, grew up with a love for the
ocean and at one time planned to be a marine biologist. When a
change in career plans brought him to a food product development job
with a Chicago firm, he found that he really missed his life as a
"beachcomber."
To compensate for the lack of aquatic life in the Midwest, Clark
began taking nature hikes and developed an interest in mushroom
hunting. He became fascinated by the variety of fungi and the
folklore accompanying them.
