Can you solve these tricky problems caused by naughty Jimmy
Smith?
1. Jimmy Smith thought ham balls sounded so good that he
ripped the recipe right out of his friend's cookbook. He took a few
other recipes, too. All in all, he tore pages 3, 7, 8, 19, and 30
from the cookbook.
Jimmy's mother was so mad, she grounded Jimmy one day for every
page he tore from the book. How many days was Jimmy grounded?
2. Jimmy made ham balls and put 16 in a casserole to serve at
dinner. He gave each of his eight guests two ham balls each, yet
when he finished serving there were still two ham balls in the
casserole. Can you guess why?
3. Jimmy's mother sent him across the street with nine ham
balls ...
